Program Notes
One of the first compositions I wrote, this was inspired by images of sunsets. It has a repeating passacaglia-like bass line that gradually builds and then releases when the waves hit the shore. The piano creates the image of rolling waves washing onto a beachfront while the other instruments act as the mist on the water. Its simple yet layered structure invites the listener to relax and imagine staring beyond the horizon.
